
Suresh is a Managing Director in GCP’s Portfolio & Operations team. He has 20+ years experience in planning and executing transformations, in senior-level operating roles within consumer brands as well as consulting.
In his previous role as Senior Director (Associate Partner) in Alvarez & Marsal’s Performance Improvement services in Asia, Suresh co-led the retail and consumer practice in the region. In this role, he helped PE-owned portfolio companies and corporates execute on strategic growth, process, organization, and digitalization opportunities.
Suresh also served as interim COO / Board member of a CVC-backed sport retailer in Indonesia, PT MAP Aktif Adiperkasa Tbk. He assessed and quantified value-creation opportunities, and subsequently worked with the management team to transform processes & capabilities to accelerate product flow through the end-to-end value chain. The company and PE successfully launched an IPO.
Suresh has led operations across a number of international brands. He was part of the leadership team for Ermenegildo Zegna in Greater China, a US$500M business across China, HK, and Taiwan. He centralized the company’s planning, merchandising, and distribution operations by building a new team and mobilizing multiple functions to execute a new go-to-market process. This integrated the company’s strategic, financial, and merchandising objectives and grew sales by 3X over a 5-year period. He also headed Retail Merchandise Planning for Levi Strauss, Asia, Middle East, and Africa, an US$800M business across 30 countries and 1,800 stores. He centralized the merchandising operations by building a regional team and accelerating growth through regional standardization and cross-functional integration.
Suresh speaks extensively throughout Asia about achieving operational excellence in retail and has shared his perspectives with publications such as CNBC, The Economist, and Forbes. He has worked in the U.S., China, SE Asia, India, and Japan. He has an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
